Don't expect Pebbles or On The Rocks to be clean on your arrival.
We were surprised on our arrival to discover the condition of the unit. We had met with the caretaker in person, so we knew that she had either just cleaned the unit or had at the very least seen the condition of it.
The place is just not clean. At first glance, it looks alright. When you settle in however, it is in poor shape. This is not what we had come to expect of a rental in this price range, and it is appalling that the owner feels that it is acceptable.
There were a number of problems that we encountered.
The dishes were dirty (and gross). The only time we have ever been sick in the Bahamas was after we ate off dishes at Pebbles. Dishes were just thrown in drawers (that smelled like insecticide). We brought food with us but it quickly became apparent that cooking at Pebbles was not going to happen.
There was soap for us to use, as we would expect in a rental in this price range. The only problem is that the soap was previously used. We started to wonder what else was previously used in the unit. Had the sheets been cleaned?
The linens were just not clean. The rugs were funky and so were the top sheets on the bed. They had clearly not been cleaned in a long time (and undoubtedly contributing to the
bug problems).
Nothing is really clean in the unit. The showers aren't clean. The kitchen isn't really clean.
Another disturbing issue is that we found what appeared to be mold on the curtains.
To futher illustrate the problems with Pebbles, check out the images below. The pictures don't do a great job of capturing the overall condition of the place.

Romantic outdoor shower?
How about a relaxing afternoon in a lounge chair? You might want to bring your own.
We recommend staying away from cooking.
And showering for that matter.
The stand-up shower was in poor shape. The door had fallen off (still there however), and was replaced by a cheap (and now filthy) plastic shower curtain. The notion of showering there was not appealing.
